This
is the best known and most developed side of Sardinia for yachting.
The coast from Arzachena to Capo Ferro is also worldwide known as the
emerald coast, beautiful but exclusive and expensive. This part of
Sardinia holds the highest concentration of marinas in Italy. The first,
oldest and most exclusive marina is Porto Cervo in the upper part of
the emerald coast. The whole emerald coast including the La Maddalena
archipelago is in the summer months heavily visited by yachts and crowded.
This part of Sardinia offers also a lot of good protected and deep
bays for anchoring.

The
best sites of this part of Sardinia are in the far South,
around Capo Carbonara and Capo Ferrato. The rest of the
coast is mountainous and almost inhabited. A commercial
harbor is at Arbatax, with some peers for yachts, a marina
at Porto Corallo, a marina at Villasimius (Capo Carbonara)
and a commercial harbor with peers for yachts at Cagliari,
the main city on Sardinia Island.
For anchoring, depending from the wind direction, I suggest around Capo Bellavista,
around Capo Ferrato and around Capo Carbonara.
